Can you live without a fringed outdoor umbrella in bright coral? I’d say yes, but why would you want to? The same goes for larger-than-life floral wallpaper, fearless color-drenched rooms, and linen draperies billowing in the summer breeze. Following our fickle spring, summer has made its much-anticipated return engagement. And as the mercury rises, so too does the style of our homes.

For proof, take a look at the work of some of Utah’s most talented designers. Their projects embody this season’s layered, relaxed aesthetic — balancing polish with ease indoors and out. Interior designer Leslie Schofield transforms her family’s home and gardens with stylish comfort and personal statements that will put a smile on your face. Tom and Cara Fox bring color and deft detail to a new Salt Lake City home, where timeless design feels newly energized. In collaboration with Upwall Design’s daring architecture, designer Marian Rockwood balances bold structure with interiors inspired by sweeping mountain views, especially inviting at summer’s peak. And down south, Eleena Speck pays homage to a St. George home’s lava fields and expansive desert setting with spaces richly layered, grounded, and warm.
To cool things down, we’ve created a lineup of Utah’s most striking pools, each making a splash across the state’s most stunning landscapes. Garden-inspired interiors follow, where floor-to-ceiling wallpapers transform rooms into lush retreats, no watering required. Resort residences, summer fabrics, and thoughtfully crafted furnishings complete the story.
Taken together, these pages offer a guide to summer style, where comfort, color, and laid-back luxury reflect the way we love to live this time of year. And just as summer makes its return engagement, so do I. Seduced by the season, I returned to shape this issue before passing the editor’s baton to Avrey Evans for the upcoming fall edition and beyond. Happy summer!
