Last month, while in Atherton, California, I photographed a home where the owners had just moved in and were getting settled. The home is spectacular; it’s another carefully crafted project by Markay Johnson Construction. What surprised me is how complete the home appeared.
The difference is accessories. Rich, interesting, and carefully scaled accessories complete the home so that it looks like it has been developed over time. The home’s interior design inspiration is the personal home of designer Monica Bhargava, Williams-Sonoma and Pottery Barn’s Executive Vice President. Williams-Sonoma offers design services free of charge, and personnel through this program assisted the homeowner to find just the right accessories to complete the home.
Now, just how recently was the home completed? The grass in the picture is dropped in through Photoshop. The lawn’s installation was scheduled after I photographed the project.
