A New York loft inspired the design of a condominium in a new Sugar House midrise. A young couple with New York tastes and ties presented the loft vision to Living Home Construction (Chris Towson) and J Bellessa Design (Jamie Bellessa), and I recently had the privilege of photographing the result.

The entry has the practical amenities of a mudroom, and the view looks across to the kitchen, dining area, living room and doors opening to a patio with outdoor living that overlooks a stretch where Parley’s Creek surfaces.

The white walls and ceilings keep it bright, and a color wall of gray in the living area along with a stone fireplace anchor the space.

The tile provided interest, and the concrete tile backsplash was especially original.

In addition to the main open space, the photos show a guest bathroom with a glassed shower and an office with brick on the nook wall where the art lights call attention to the mounted bicycle.

If this sophisticated design is an indicator, Sugar House should see exciting times.
