A frequent conversation these days is the rising cost of homes. I photographed a new project on Provo’s east bench that heartens me that young families can find a good home that may be affordable. Aspen Summit is set against one of the Wasatch Range’s steep and stony peaks and looks out to the valley.
I was struck with the practicality of the floor plan. Downstairs is an open plan with a spacious contemporary kitchen larger than kitchens in many single-family homes plus a pantry for additional storage. The staging, done by Jill Hollingshead, was vibrant and youthful. It offered great ideas for furnishing and living in the space.
Upstairs, the roomy master has contemporary large bathroom, his and hers closets, and an additional generous closet with shelves. The other two bedrooms were of a nice size.
While it appears the development is positioned as starter homes, the ample storage and flexible plan makes me think it could adapt well to a maturing family.
As for the photos, for the lower level I tried to show connections, and throughout I composed photos that captured the quality of the finishes.
