By now, we all know modern design is perfectly at home in mountain homes. Need convincing? This Glenwild house designed by Upwall Design Architectswith interiors by LMK Interior Design should do the trick. We featured this stunner in our current issue ON NEUTRAL GROUND and serve up even more images here for your review.

Strong horizontal lines and a rustic-yet-refined palette of Browns Canyon stone, clear-grain cedar and bronze-toned metal gives this Glenwild residence a modern, sophisticated edge.

Fostering the interior’s dark-light mix, a sand-toned, rift-oak console and light-colored upholstery contrast with a dark rug and accent tables in the living room area.

Clad in  horizontally grained walnut, the three-sided fireplace performs as a handsome room divider between the dining and living areas.

Horizontal lines captured in the shower’s tile and the cabinet’s wood unite the materials and help give the bathroom its modern style.

A wide step and a wall of Browns Canyon stone delineates the open entry from the great room it opens into.

In the master bedroom, a pair of large mirrors perform like windows framing the views that they reflect.

Expansive windows, a large mirror and light-toned upholstery help create a bright, light-filled ambiance in the home’s lower level. A rounded cocktail table fosters a casual, relaxed vibe.

While the great room and entry showcase a lot of wood—from the ceiling to the floors, furnishings to fireplace—the variation in woods tones prevents the material from overwhelming the space. Just the opposite— it adds character and warmth.

Along the back of the home, large windows frame views of the beautifully decorated rooms inside.
