There’s a lot going on in Deer Valley that goes beyond the spectacular skiing. People are also heading to the world-famous resort for very stylish living. Case in point: the Stein Eriksen Residence we featured in our current issue’s Mountain Grown house tour. We can’t get enough of its fresh contemporary design inspired by the alpine setting, so we’re showcasing more images of the home, right here online.

A dazzling tiered chandelier composed of antique brass chain adds drama and bold scale to the home’s main living area. “The space is so voluminous; it needed this large statement piece,” says Jeff Strasser, chief creative officer for Marc Michaels Interior Design.

Nine custom lanterns with wood-and-mica lenses from The Lamp Company hang on two strands down the four-story stairwell, linking the dĂ©cor of each level of the home. Rug from Adibs Rug Gallery.

Outfitted in plaid bedding, the lower level bunk room caters to the kids’ slumber parties and hanging out. Caged pendant light by Visual Comfort.

The Birches wallpaper by York visually links the home office to the wooded site outdoors. A sleeper sofa and easily moved furnishings allow the space to double as a guest room when needed.

In the great room’s open kitchen, light-colored, painted cabinets contrast elegantly with tobacco-toned wood floors. A relaxed mix of upholstered and leather-seated stools pull up to a Caesarstone-topped island.

In the home’s light-filled entry, interior designer Jeff Strasser replaced a conventional built-in closet with a streamlined wood cabinet and paired it with a rustic Mimi London console table and a floating bench upholstered in a handsome wool plaid.

On the lower level, Strasser and his team used wall covering to warm the theater room and created unique wood-and-tile “up and over” beams to vertically frame the inviting space. “This may be the family’s favorite space,” the designer says.

The home sits on a slope-side site in Deer Valley and is one of The Stein Eriksen Residences.
