The color experts at Pantone have announced their shade PANTONE 16-1546 Living Coral as the color of the year for 2019. Coral, a bright, eye-catching shade of orange with golden undertones, embraces any space with warmth and life.
Pantone selected the shade as a response to “the onslaught of digital technology and social media increasingly embedding into daily life,” and felt this engaging color was representative of authentic, immersive experiences that enable connection and intimacy.
“Color is an equalizing lens through which we experience our natural and digital realities and this is particularly true for Living Coral,” said Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color Institute in a press release. “With consumers craving human interaction and social connection, the humanizing and heartening qualities displayed by the convivial Pantone Living Coral hit a responsive chord.”
As far as adding pops of color to your interiors, Pantone recommends using PANTONE 16-1546 Living Coral in shag rugs, cozy blankets and lush upholsteries to create warm, comforting and nurturing feelings in the home. Because a little goes a long way, it is perfect for accents in any room.
Don’t just think tropical, either. PANTONE 16-1546 Living Coral is an upbeat fit for Utah homes, as a rosier approach to ever-popular clay and earth tones, and pairs well with the blues and wood tones sweeping the trend boards, today!
