Food, friends, fireworks, and fun frame the Fourth a favorite festival. (OK, I’ll stop with the alliteration.)

Architectural photography is location work, so thinking of it in that way, it isn’t such a big leap that I would be asked to photograph the big celebration at a resort enclave. The stills were also dropped into a promotional film to boost home sales at the private community.

Details and people shots tell the story well. Overall shots of the crowd or tables of people eating just don’t put the viewer inside the event as well as photos taken close in to show what interesting things could be observed if you were there. The exceptions, of course, were the photos of the fireworks. I didn’t want to get too close to them!

Have a wonderful Fourth of July holiday. It’s nice to take a moment to remember the sacrifice, vision, and efforts of our country’s founders.
