Bye-bye white walls and monochromatic colorways—playful wallpapers continue to be a popular trend for 2022. Builders and designers participating in this year’s Utah Valley Parade of Homes know this all too well as they put bold and scenic wallpapers on full display in powder rooms, bedrooms, offices and more. From serene painterly flowers to novel patterns worthy of a double-take (we’re looking at you, squirrel-covered bathroom), wallpapers offer a variety of extraordinary statements for your walls. Here, we’ve gathered our top picks for playful wallpapers spotted at the 2022 parade.

Scenic and Mural Wallpapers

When you’re longing for a glimpse of a tranquil countryside or majestic mountaintop, a scenic wallpaper offers an atmospheric panorama. Not only do they bring a piece of the great outdoors inside, mural wallpapers also deliver an artistic flair to any space. When added to a guest bedroom or at-home school room, large-scale wallpaper can easily be mistaken for a hand-painted mural.

Bright and Bold Wallpapers

The 2022 Utah Valley Parade of Homes pushed designers and builders to explore their creative limits—and what better way to go full-tint than with bold, in-your-face wallpaper? Highly saturated tones and hypnotic patterns made their way into several spaces from reading nooks to mudrooms to bedrooms in this year’s Parade of Homes.
