1) Integrate a self-standing tub into the structure of an open shower to unify the bathing elements and turn them into an eye-catching sculptural feature.

5) Use a salvaged stained-glass window in an patio wall to take vintage charm and character from indoors to out.

6) Pass on a plain window. Instead, install an accordion window that all but disappears as it opens and connects your kitchen space to the patio or outdoor living room. Extend the countertop surface on the exterior side of the window to increase the indoor-outdoor connection.

7) Paint the face of an exterior door to create the look of a mirror reflecting the surrounding landscape.
