So Clever: Everyone Needs a Backlit Countertop

August 20, 2018

If you ask me, one of the best-lit rooms in every home should be the kitchen. For the 2018 Salt Lake Parade of Homes, DAI Construction made it happen with this dazzling space.

Too often, a space can be cluttered with excess elements, and extra lighting fixtures can contribute to a busy space. DAI skirted that issue with high windows, skylights and as many hidden lights as possible. The backlit countertop offers an even more pleasant surprise. This innovative element ensures that the kitchen is well-lit from all angles, without introducing too much harsh, artificial light to the area. On top of it all, the counter emits a soft glow that can quiet the mood whenever needed, whether for entertaining or just a quiet night in.
